Error Parsing File

I have been getting an issue in Netbeans 8.0 where the editor no longer highlights syntax errors in the code I am writing. When I scroll over the file in the project navigator, it says “Error parsing file.”. An example of this is adding a JPanel to a class when I have not imported the package for that. But instead of highlighting the error, nothing appears. I have looked this up to no end and tried all of the solutions I have seen. I have deleted my cache, reinstalled, restarted, etc. Has anyone had this problem and found a solution that works?
