Multiple configurations for NB windows?

Hi all,

I have a rather odd requirement. Well, desire, really.

I use one installation of netbeans in two distinctly different modes, one
is for regular writing of code, and the other is for presenting code, often
through a projector.

I find that the font size in particular, but also things like the
(sub)window layouts need to be very different for these two modes. It's
time-consuming to reconfigure everything every time I switch from one mode
of use to the other.

Is it possible somehow to arrange something (on a command line perhaps)
that would enable me to keep two configurations and choose between them
when I start the program?

Is the configuration of the windows/fonts/colors etc. stored in one (or a
small number) of files that I could identify and thereby be able to copy
in/out of place? Or is there a better way?

I'm occasionally forced to use Eclipse (sorry, washing mouth out with soap
and water :) for a presentation, and I noticed that has "perspectives" --
pre-set-up, named, configurations. Does netbeans have anything like this,
and if it does, can one create custom perspectives (and another bigger "if"
is can this behavior control font size? Font is actually the biggest
problem I have switching between 1024x768 crappy projector and a full HD
display!)

TIA for any suggestions,
Simon

Simon,

NetBeans settings are stored in a "userdir" you can choose via the
command line (not the only way, but that's one way).

See here for more details:
